Refreshing and anointed best describes the exciting ministry of Jerry Owens.
Before receiving Christ as his Lord, Jerry’s God given talent was used in the world as he traveled and played drums with country music star David Houston. Later, he was asked to join the band of the famed Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton, with whom he traveled and played with for 6 years. It was at this point in his life that Jerry realized that fame, glitter, and gold…nor drugs and alcohol could provide happiness…He had learned this the hard way. He then began to search for true peace, love, joy and happiness and found the author of all these, Jesus Christ.
Jerry has a very refreshing, unique and sometimes comical way of reaching the hearts of people of all ages as he minister the
uncompromising Word of God. His desire is to encourage the body of Christ and to help them to become established in the Word and Faith. Jerry’s greatest desire is to
point the lost to Jesus Christ.
Today Jerry and Mary his wife, works at “The Great Passion Play” in Eureka Springs Arkansas. Jerry is director of The New Holy Land Tours, which is a 2 1/2 hour tour of over 40 exhibits from the Old and New Testament, which includes a life size replica of
Moses’ Tabernacle in the Wilderness. Mary his wife of 37 years works in the administrative office at The Great Passion Play. This gives them the opportunity to meet and minister to people from all walks of life.
In addition to this Jerry is an evangelist, who travels extensively, not only during the off season of The Great Passion Play, but during the season as well. This past year Jerry had the wonderful opportunity to minister in 87 different churches, a total of 148 services. Only God could open this many doors.
For many years Jerry was one of the Tabernacle Priest taught in the Tabernacle, as a part of The New Holy Land Tour for many years before becoming director over the tours. As a result, often times he does a slide presentation and teaches on the Tabernacle in many of these churches.
Jerry is totally convinced that Jesus is what he was, and still does what he did. That
He is the miracle worker that is the same today, yesterday, and forever.
